Early Season Strategy

Postby TxTechChuck4 » 07 14, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I'll be going out for first week of bow season in the middle of the Rockies in Colorado. Went scouting to set some game cams up, found a herd of about 60 elk grazing above the tree line around 12,500'. There are 2 watering holes that I stuck game cams on around 11,700' below them. My question is how do you go about bow hunting elk when they are that high with little cover. The watering holes had abundant number of tracks and crap around them which I found promising. I'll check my cams again early August then one last time right before the season opens up which should tell me more.
