best face camo

What do you find as your best face camo, for me it is cork, burn it put it on,
easy to take off, does no run when you sweat.

I generally don't wear any face camo but have considered it? I really hate that chalky or oily feeling most give you. The burnt cork sounds pretty good! Are you burning it with a lighter? I like this idea!

Did the face camo for a lot of years but have transitioned to a face net. It's a full face/head/neck camo net that I tuck under my hat when not in use. Dependent upon the year, the blood sucking bugs (WA black gnats, and skeetos from WA, ID, and/or MT) can ruin a call and stalk, or, almost any type of setup if you're not protected from these voratious flying rodents No sir, no more face paint for me.

I'm using a Carbo-mask or a Sitka/Kuiu neck gaiter.

I am interested in the cork idea as well. I usually don't use anything but thats cause we are using multiple callers and the shooter is silent so the bull/cows don't usually pick up the glare. When I am on my own I like to use a face mask but they don't feel comfortable to me, same goes for paint. I usually just wipe it away with the sweat.

We used the multi colored paint. We tried the burned cork and it worked but we had to burn the cork over and over to just get our faces.

Question, we hunted early Sept last year and found ourselves in t shirt or with sleeves pushed up due to getting hot. Do any of you camo up your arms or just wear long sleeves and fight the urge to not push the sleeves up?

I usually go without any makeup. The elk I hunt don't seem to care. I have used charcoal, but it does not last for me. I have had some military surplus stuff, but it was too dried out. The hunter stuff I got in tubes worked for a while, but long before the stuff was used up, the flexible plastic tubes broke up in my pack. I think I will hang out in the shadows or stay in my tree, and not use any.

i use the hunters specialty. it's okay.

my brother said the duck dynasty guys make a GREAT one. never tried it. i'm using a first lite baclava thing now.

Got tired of using it, so, nothing in the past few years. Tried a mask, but it makes finding my anchor unnatural.

Lark, it's a non issue to have your shirt pushed up to your elbows. Don't be concerned with adding camo to exposed arms/flesh. I will say as you mentioned I generally fight the urge to push sleeves up but if need be I do. I haven't worn any face paint or face mask in 15 years or so & it hasn't been an issue yet! (grin) It's movement where elk can see it that gets you in trouble!

A face paint company called Cameleon made a paint in the 80's that didn't dry out your skin, didn't come off when you sweated, and was easily removed with a wet towel, or baby wipe. They sold out to Larry D. Jones, It is still available only now its called Point Blank, comes in little round containers the size of a quarter, 5 colors, although I only use the black and brown. If I don't feel like painting up, I carry one of the new kinds of roll-on stick types and just swipe across my face, but it does sweat off.

I just grow a beard for hunting season and call it good.

Elk urine and mud work for me. I usually have a mask under my hat, but unless I'm in direct sun don't think it's an issue.
