I would like to take a moment to personally thank Gregg (Gselkhunter) for putting together an excellent calling class today. My son and I made the long drive down from North Denver and traffic was horrible but Gregg made us feel at home and shared lots of great information about calling. As a seasoned hunter and caller I came away with some great information and several things I want to practice. Gregg took his time and made sure to work with everyone there regardless of their level of knowledge about calling. In a time when few people are willing to share secrets about hunting he was very open and excited about helping everyone out. So thank you Gregg for taking the time to help my son and I out and pass along your knowledge.

I also want to Say thank you to Travis with Wapiti River Outdoors 780-876-6170 www.wapitiriveroutdoors.com He was generouse with sending lots of calls and carriers for everyone there. If you haven't used Wapiti diaphragms before I highly suggest picking up some and give your support to Wapiti River Outdoors. It's awesome to see guys like Travis supporting new, seasoned, and upcoming hunters without asking for a single thing. THANK YOU SO SO SO for your support and I look forward to calling in all my friends, sons, and girlfriends elk this season with your calls. I'm starting to wonder how he hits that high note.......I'll keep my ideas to myself!

Awesome, you guys had a great time! Very cool guys, thanks for the feedback too! Gregg is probably using a triple reed to hit those high ones that are higher than most with less layers? Gregg is a very good caller!

Guys I wish I could have been there as well !! I'm so glad to help out and if it gets a few new folks out there calling and new and seasoned callers a bit more confidence then we have succeeded !! Gregg has some great knowledge. I wish everyone success this fall but mostly HAVE FUN !! LOL

As with what Paul said use a reed that has 2-3 reeds and you'll get much higher notes and also more volume.

Congrats to Gregg for doing a great seminar !! He has been a very busy guy and still got it all together. Good stuff buddy !!

Gregg's class was superb. The man has mad calling skills! He demonstrated skills ranging from fundamental to seemingly impossible, and taught how each is done. In the mix were secrets, elk biology, corrected misconceptions, controversial strategies, and plenty of real-world experiences. He encouraged every participant, including children who are catching on fast. His sense of humor and passion for sharing what he knows, made it a great event. What an enthusiastic mentor!

I enjoyed meeting Elknut Forum members including Gutpile, Muzzle Man, Lark Bunting and Under H2O, as well as people from Archery Talk forum. I was reminded how much knowledge there is among members here, and how valuable it is to have a place where that gets shared. Big ol' Thank Yous to the participants, Gregg, and sponsor Travis from WapitiRiversOutdoors.com. Much appreciated!

So many takeaways I've been trying to remember. Proper reed fit; herd bull logic; the three ruts; Geist's text on elk biology/management; the voice of the biggest, baddest bulls. If you learned something unforgettable from Gregg, post it!

Long weekend and not much time to post but wanted to say a huge thank you from my son and I for putting this together, to Travis for sending calls and it was nice meeting all of you.
