Kifaru Mega Tarp Question

Does anyone know the sq for the floor area of the Mega Tarp? I am trying to compare it to the Mountain Smith LT which has 54 Sq feet of floor space. Also has anyone heard more of the release date and pricing for the new Mega Tarps?

It appears from the dimensions posted on the Kifaru web site that the mega tarp pitched is 11'4" long by approximately 68" wide. So my guess would be about 60 to 64 sq ft total floor area. I just received the mountain shelter lt and did some measuring for a tyvek ground sheet. The measurements that I got were about 8 ft long by 7 ft wide. These measurements did not include the front vestibule area of the tarp which would add about another 2 or 3 feet to the overall length. It is sort of a tough shelter to get measurement on since it tappers toward the back of the shelter in width. However, for the price and the weight of the shelter, I am extremely pleased and very excited to use it. I have only had it up in the yard a couple of times. When I pitched it the other day in my yard we had sustainable 20 to 25 mph winds with gusts into the 30 and it held up just fine.

The guy's at Kiafru told me that the new shelters are on hold for now. They received a large order from the military and have their resources dedicated to filling the order.

I'd call Kifaru and ask them about the floor size.
