I bought a used dragon slayer daypack to replace my badlands 2800. The thing is cool! Super neat details like a drain hole in the main bag. Carried 50 lbs great. I'm beginning to think that load lifters are great but the lack of them are not a deal breaker. I can get the hip belt to carry the load and the shoulder pad just keep it from tipping back. The trick is to get the thing to fit.

I wish it was the Longbow pack but this will work as a daypack fine! Just went with grey so I can use it for climbing gear.

The trick with packs is that after 60# you will weed out the good from the bad! Load lifters are a help to a degree but sometimes it just doesn't off set the price difference from pack to pack! Load lifters are not a god send but they do help to a certain extent, the rest is up to the hunter & is he a good sufferer or not with a serious load! (grin) No kidding!

yea..i get it.

i ran the same load in my kifaru with what i think are exaggerated load lifters. (on me). 50 lbs feels like guess what? exactly 50lbs. both loads ride off my hips..and my shoulder straps do the same thing of keeping it from all tipping backwards. i dont yank my load lifter so much that the shoulder pad comes off my shoulder. for me the real benefit of a good pack is a hip belt that doesnt start to work itself loose.

i do know i shoot my bow better with the mystery ranch..more accurate. it is so narrow.

it is just my day pack. i will jog elk off the mountains with the big pack.

i'm not a pack expert. i took a big swig of kifaru koolaide....the pack is awesome.but i credit the excellent fit..not the magic pixie dusting the pack with fairy dust..haha.

Thanks pointy. I'm looking for a large bag to carry on my Horn Hunter Full Curl frame. I bought the system and the large camp bag is "ok" at 3000ci. Looking for something really large, yet functional, to carry my entire camp/gear into the backcountry. Love the fit and feel of the FC frame. Carrying 67# for training is a breeze but I need more space to carry gear when first walking in to set up camp. Thanks again

Bill, isn't the large bag that comes with the Full Curl Pack 5000"? I believe that's what mine is? I agree that 67# in this pack is easily done & fits very well, I've had 90# on it with zero issues.

Didn't mean literally I carried it over my bikini frame. I meant I left the bikini in the truck and carried the dragon slayer. It was just more comfortable. Think it was the big lumbar pad on the bikini I didn't like.
Glad you are liking the pack. If I lived out west and did more pack hunting I would have kept it.

Everything I've read says the large camp bag is only 3000ci. The entire Full Curl System (frame, bag, and small pack) equals 5000ci when used together.
