sliding sight question with a twist

Ok I've read tons of threads for 1pin vs 3or5 but here's my spin for me. I have a pretty good asthigmatism(spelling ?) And get a huge blurr from the pins and shoot a fast enough bow that my 20 and 30 practically blurr together in the right conditions. I'm running a mbg vengeance 5 pin and love it but am thinking of ordering a custom accent with 2 pins. 1st pin will be a green .19 set at 25 or so which will get me easily to 35 with just a bit of hold over or under my next pin will be a yellow .10 set at 40 and will be my slider. That should put enough gap between the 2 to not blurr and get rid of what I read as the biggest concern of running a single pin that an elk comes in close then jumps out to 40 and your trying to guess hold over off the single pin. Has anyone else tried a 2 pin setup and how did you like it? And like I say I know I could go 3 pins but I get a bad blurr with the pins too close.

Second part of the question is should I go with the 4in dovetail or the regular vengeance base (ive believe they both offer me the 3rd axis adjustment) I've never messed with a dovetail before so don't know the pros or cons

Have you tried a verifier peep? My father in law uses one so he can see his pins. I think there are 9 different lenses that can be used. Some shops have them places in a stick so you can try without purchasing.

Verifiers don't work with an astigmatism or if you are near sighted and wear corrective lenses for distance vision.

I haven't used a 2 pin set up, but think it would work very well exactly as you have described. It should help to eliminate the blur, and let you shoot fairly quickly at 40 and under. If I decide to use something other than my single pin slider, that is the set up I would go to. I don't think you need the dove tail, but then I prefer to keep things pretty simple, KISS

I did take the plunge here's what I'm going to try the mbg ascent on a 4" dovetail I ordered it with 3 pins but will pull on once I decide which color size combo I want to use (plus I think a third pin will help with resale if it doesn't work) I going with a green .19 on top and a yellow and a green .10 on the bottom once I decide which one I like better. I shot my 20 pin at 25 yesterday and its only about an inch low so I think ill set the top pin at 25 and the bottom at 40 like I planned and then use that bottom as my slider. I've thought about it all weekend and really think this is going to work for me.

Is it a simple matter to pull a pin? Won't the fiber optic strand be a problem?

I have the three pin. It is pretty sparse. If you space them out like you are planning, I don't think you will notice the third pin.

Great sight. I opted for the standard mount. I figured once set I'm not messing with it. I wanted to keep it simpler.

From a couple posts I read you just need to pull the cover shells and un screw the pin and it all comes out I guess the microadjust pins make it a bit harder but this sight wont have that

no slider, but i did turn my mbg flashpoint hd 5 pin into a 2 pin. 25 and trick. both green. i just popped the fiber optic strands out of the pin and coiled it up into the photochromatic housing. easy peasy. however, i'm not certain how simple it would be to put the strand back into a pin. wasn't my concern. i also have a 4" dovetail and like it for the 3rd axis levelability but it is as far forward as it goes..... just make sure if you would be wanting to slide the dovetail back abit it won't be an issue with your quiver....

What quiver are you using? I've got a tight spot and from what I've read its supposed to work together

tightspot. the dovetail slides back and forth so to custom fit the sight ring in your peep. the mounting bracket for my tightspot, which mounts to the stationary bracket for the dovetail, sweeps somewhat behind the dovetail pathway. a non issue for myself, but something to consider. i believe there is a tightspot adapter for situations such as this, but have narry played with one. i just run my dovetail fully extended......

Ok thanks for the heads up I definitely hope it all works together the way I'm hoping .... On a side. Note I do think this system is going to be good I took all my other pins and slid them down tonight to see how well I can see just the one dot and scored my 2nd ever robin hood at 25 yds ya it cost me about $20 but it shows me I may be onto something here lol

i really like the 2 pin window... clutter free and the pins can coroborate with one another. happy your having success with your setup......
