Sage is a springer spaniel. Apparently he thought it was a good place to rest. Sadie our other dog, an English setter was always afraid of it, when I used it, she'd immediately go outside in the back yard. Sadie was relieved that the treadmill finally wore out and was replaced with a rowing machine.
My wife who isn't a fan of exercise always takes credit for teaching sage how to properly use the treadmill.
