Eastmans BHJ and HJ thoughts

Just got a subscription for my birthday EHJ and BHJ. Looking forward to them arriving . Anyone else get it? I think I'm gonna be a DIY junky the rest of my life so I thought this might be a step in the right direction. I hope it is! What's your thoughts on the info? Are the areas they talk about crowded areas or off the beaten path?

Any other magazines you guys swear by?

In my opinion the best magazine out there is Bugle that comes with a membership to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Ya, I've enjoyed Bugle as well now & then but personally don't read any magazines! Just don't have the time but good luck!

Forums and EHJ keep me sort-of-in-the-loop. Great magazine.
This year They were giving out the little Primos bugle, with a subscription, I like the sounds I can make with it and its size, so the free bugle will be in my pack this fall

I get them both, the more hunting info I can gather the better. Gives me a broad overview the direction hunting is going overall.

The crowds definitely chase their more popular units, but that is to be expected and you can use it to advantage IMO.

I like bugle and Eastman magazines also like western Hunter and elk Hunter.

One thing to keep in mind: I try to remind people on these forums that depending on the subject most answers we give each other here are with respect to the area each individual has experience in. Mike E and company hunt Wyoming for the most part. No question a lot of the info is general but that is definitely something to consider.

The MSR section with draw info is great in these two magazines. But like Elk Hunter, Extreme Elk, and Western Hunter just as much if not more.
