Nebraska Newbee

Postby Hot Cow » 03 25, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Hello All!
Finally joined a few minutes ago after visiting the site several times. I am new to backpack archery elk hunting with only 2 years under my belt. I have rifle hunted in Nevada several years ago but my true passion is to get a good bull with my bow. I am 0 for 2 but did get a shot at a cow last year and missed!! Is anyone out there from the Lincoln Ne area to bounce ideas off of? If not I will hammer away at the web site to get as much help as I can.
Thanks!!!
Tim

I live a few miles north of Lincoln. Be glad to get together and shoot, go for training hikes and blow some bugles together anytime. If you really want to learn, ask the experts here. Pm me your email or phone number.

Hello Tim and welcome! I live here in Lincoln as well. Good to have other flatlanders on board. Hit me up if you would like. I am also a newbie elk hunter with one year archery backpack hunting under my belt. This is a great site full of more info than I can even comprehend sometimes. It truly is the forum for elk hunting info.

Got the pm and sent you an email.

I'm hoping we can get together and shoot some arrows at the outdoor range on Superior street sometime this weekend. If anyone else is in the general area and wants to join us, I'll post of details if we can get something worked out. I'm free Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

Sunday 1:30pm at the outdoor range on Superior street. All who can attend are welcome.

It will probably be the most awesome archery practice and b.s. session ever organized on the elknut forum in Lincoln, NE that ever existed. I'd highly recommend you all attend. Lincoln is located directly in the heart of elk country (at least this was the heart of elk country before the Europeans settled North America!).

Hotcow (Tim), his hunting partner Brian, stikbow (Steve) and Ctdad (Pat) had a fun afternoon today shooting our bows a little and mostly talking about elk hunting. I enjoyed it guys and look forward to more gatherings. I took a group photo but I have to make it smaller before I can post it up here.
