Ok, less than 6 months till D day. What do you need to add to your gear/pack list before wapiti season? Maybe a needed upgrade based on your hunt plans or a replacement item. I'm pretty set for gear but need a new headlamp, some broad heads, a few tree stand accessories, and some more silk sock liners. Whaddya you cats have on your shopping list?

a new range finder for sure, new smaller pack, and socks. i wear them at work in the winter and they get worn out faster... also arrows,depending on how many i lose or break this summer

We should all buy stock in the headlamp companies huh. As usual I need one of those.

I usually need a new alarm clock too but since I bought the Garmin GPS it has an alarm so the clock has been one less thing to think about.

I need a saddle and a 3 horse trailer!

This year is a big step in the right direction. My buddies dad is buying a house in Wyoming. I'll have a place to leave things and stay on my way in & out. Finally... a home base in Wyoming! Scratch that off the list.

I need a new range finder. The one I have is kind of old and NOT rain proof. After opening week in CO. last year, well lets just say I didn't use it much.

I don't "need" anything. I would like to get a new tent. Mine works well but is a touch on the heavy side. Will likely buy a Big Agnes Super Scout. I already upgraded my bag and pack. Though I think I'm going to swap packs before the season.

I'll be happy to rent it out to you. $500 deposit. I can scratch the HPG Serape off the list. My camo snuggie is arriving tomorrow. Gotta hand it to those guys, fast shipping. I'd like to add a G20 w/ a 6" barrel and night sights to it but gotta sell the bike first.

Deckers are nice. They give you way more options. Panniers are nice and work on both deckers and sawbucks but the decker makes much better use of the ropes especially for top packing. I worked with some sawbuck only guys last year. They had 2 deckers and hated them because they didn't know how to use them. When I learned their system I said I could blow your mind with some decker packing done right.

I am in the market for a set of riding saddle panniers.

Plenty I WANT but don't NEED.
Glacier Country calls/back ups are of the needs. Cant go in the field with out your calls. Switched up calls from last year and blowing through them in practice, so , replacements are needed.
Food - Updating things from last year. Cant wait to test out a peanut butter, bacon, honey, bagel this summer on camping trips. Hope its as good as it sounds, ha.

No doubt. It would figure that I finally get a slide in bed truck camper, gear it up, and set up to hunt comfortably and then I decide I want more adventure. At least it's quality gear that will last me a long, long time.

They're not bad if you can get past the feeling of a river rock in your gut for the next hour after eating it. I made some last year using einstein bagels from Costco and thick cut bacon. For the honey, I found a creamed honey which had the consistency of peanut butter. Overall, pretty tasty lunch that would fuel me all day. Make sure you have enough water when eating it though.

exactly, I bought quality stuff that hasn't broken yet, so that cost is over with. for now.... that first year was rough!

I'm pretty excited to learn the hitches and manti loads. My neighbor works for the forest service in the north Teton forest district (Moran, pacific creek) and he's been all over me that I "have" to go decker and not sawbuck. We've had some pretty good conversation about it and he sold me. I've got two foxtrotter geldings and I'm ready to step up to the next level with them.
