Has anybody ever picked out an elk on GE?

I am always scanning the satellite images and Google Earth and hoping I come across a herd of elk or a single one I can pick out. I am curious if anybody has been able to do just that.

I have more hours flying around on GE than some commercial pilots and I've never seen one. I've seen my own vehicles on there though. I have heard people say they spotted elk. Maybe I need to try my binos!

not me either. I too have spent some time looking above the timberline in some known elk spots just for the fun of it.

Picked out a herd of cows in 492, never seen an elk. But on another message board, someone had screen shots of elk from GE.

Try 43* 41' 35.24" N, 124* 02' 13.89" W. I think that is an elk. If it is you get an idea of the difficulty of finding one in your OTC hunt area.

Yep that could be an elk. Back when I lived in the PCNW, I used to drive through their a lot and see elk all the time. I guess that's why they have the viewpoint though

I also surfed around GE using photos taken during elk season(in CO) and found several outfitter and other camps.

I found 3 elk, all standing, the photo appeared to be taken 2 hours before noon by the way the shadows laided. Near the area hunt Ive seen lots of moo cows

I think for the 0176 + Alt key to work, the numbers have to be entered using the numeric key pad (some key boards will have it some will not), not the numbers on top of the key board...at least that is how I got it to work

Yep, and on some finicky computers, you must use the LEFT Alt key

Way off track, but on a Mac the "degrees" symbol is made by <Option> and <0> (zero) pushed at the same time.

Every time I fly over a potential spot on GE I am looking and hoping to see an elk. GE must delete those images

You can find outfitter camps on GE, I can vouch for that!

Didn't think it would ever happen, but I finally did it,!!!!!!!!!!! I found elk on GE, I think anyway.

Doesn't like much, but when comparing an older GE imager and Bing imagery to this one, these elk images where not there. Gotta be elk, right? Maybe it's wishful thinking.
