lighted nocks

After watching the frontal elk shot Sean D posted it got me wondering which western states allow lighted nocks. I know Colorado does not allow them. How about the other states?

Legal in WA as of last year. Not legal in ID or MT.

No problem Gary. I hunt all three of those state on various years and try my best to keep up on the current regulation allowances. This said, it is 100% illegal to use tasers on elk, even if they resist Just watching out for you buddy .

damn, I have to leave mine at home now I never considered lighted nocks to be illegal anywhere. I looked like hell when we first hunted Colorado and don't remember them being illegal. and if it wasn't illegal in Colorado, they would be good anywhere.

Does anyone had an insight into the logic behind making lighted nocks illegal? I know here in South Dakota using anything battery powered on you bow is illegal, but lighted nocks are okay because they are not attached to the bow. I just started using them last year and beat myself up for not using them sooner. It seems the GFP or DNR should support anything that increases the likelihood that a wounded animal is recovered....

Don't know the reasoning behind it but for everyone's info Colorado regs on page 12 states under hand held bows: scopes, electronic or battery powered devices cannot be incorporated or attached to bow or arrow. No lighted nocks.

Idaho is the same, anything battery powered can't be on bow or arrow. Pretty outdated rules that don't keep up with technology. I know Idaho still had the 65% let off rule up to a few years ago. You couldn't even buy a new bow that was legal to hunt with for a while.
