Incredible FREE Offer!!

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 03 13, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Ha! That got your attention Elknuts :D Geez folks, let's get some more folks posting up their elk squawks on the post em up threads. What do you get for free you might ask? Well, you'll get some "free" comments from fellow hunters, and, recommendations for improvement from some of the best elk noise makers out there. That's right, you get all of this for the price of "FREE". Post up now and perhaps, you'll qualify for a set of Ginsu steak knives. My boss is a tough one, he only lets those dormant posts hang for so long and then they fall into the dark hole.. If you folks don't start posting, I won't get to bugles with chuckles, bugles with grunts, and the "special elk sounds" thread.. That would be criminal

Phantom, I have been meaning to post up new sounds here and haven't got around to it with being busy. I have managed to practice my cow calls after elknut and troy posted some tips but I don't feel I am getting to the point I want to be at. I am using his tighter reeds and now getting the cow sounds I expect. Not the Call! this is my fault for anyone reading this. I just need to try out some of his cow calls for better cow talk. I will be posting up some sounds tonight after most have left the office.....I hope to anyway.
Although no improvement Ill post back up the cow/calf talk in the other thread.......

I would think with all of the free calls floating around one might decide to try it out!!

Brent, very good point on all the new calls given out lately by both Troy at Glacier Country Hunting Calls & Travis at Wapiti River Outdoors!

Too, most hunters find the softer the latex the better the cow calls!

ElkNut, for cow talk, no doubt about that for me! With bugles I have been liking the tighter reeds the more I am control my air flow and tongue pressure.

Brent, I hear ya! Those tightly stretched singles can rip out very nice Bugles etc as well as some doubles & triples. Do you have an All Purpose reed that you use that does well for everything while elk hunting?

My son and I were listening to more sounds last night and practicing. I showed him a couple of the threads you started here and he asked if we could record some this weekend.

I'll try to figure out how to upload over the weekend.

My go to so far had been the bugling Bull's Raging Bull, great all around call. I feel like I will have the confidence to use a double (orange enrager) this year for my all around calling. Better bugling, better cow calling with the ability to use heard talk/calf sounds into that mix. But more effectively! IMO. I want to move in that direction for my calling to increase my bugling 'Power' I guess you could say. One thing I wont leave behind is the open reed cow calls, I have had to most success with those over any other (Primos-Imaka da bulls crazy).
Which is how I know my calling needs improvement. I am yet to get responses on cold calling setups.....this year I am hoping it will be different.
