non L E D headlights?

Indian Summer reminded me about looking for a new headlight. I went back on some old posts but am still a little lost on what I was reading. I have a couple of Led lights that I like for walking but don't like the light for following a blood trail. The blood does not show up very well for me in this light. Any recommendations on a head light that uses a regular bulb.

I carry a Fenix TK11. It is powerful, well built and small. The only down side is expense including batteries. It is worth it in cases like you just mentioned and it will help you see a downed animal well ahead of you in the dark.
If you want to go with a more traditional flashlight a Mag Lite is good.

I have experienced the same problems blood trailing with some led lights. Especially if the light had a blueish look to it. LED lights are much better than they used to be. I now use a Petzl Tikka XP 2 and have good luck with it. I used the MAG light also. When the blood trailing gets tough I use a lantern.

I think today a good option is to look for "High CRI" LEDs.

They aren't cheap and the wait for one can be annoying. I just ordered one for my sister since she's an EMT and they also need to be able to tell the difference between body fluids and other liquids.

i have an old school surefire G2 nitrolon and a G3.

GREAT torches..incandesent and bright has heck..

crazy timing on this thread...i just clicked off the LED LENSER website and those flashlight look pretty good.. LED tho. i like LED lights.
