What are you doing that others aren't? What makes your sounds any better or more convincing than the next guys? What are you doing to think like an elk and or to get inside an elks head?

I'm not a tree stand hunter but I agree with swede here. In my rifle hunting days I worked in stealth mode and I figured if I hiked enough area I would at some point sneak up on some elk. I did this successfully for many years. Last year was my first archery hunt and I employed similar tactics. I would let out a location bugle in the morning to get a bearing then go into stealth mode. I came across elk each day and would credit only 2 encounters to the little bit of cow calling I did.

this year I want to do more cold call set ups and attempt to call bulls in so I'm definitely interested in learning how/what types of calling has worked for others.
