I have slipped on those slimy rolling rocks so many times, I take my boots and socks off before I try to cross. I know I am going to flounder. That is experience. The house I lived in as a kid was less than 50 feet from a NW river.

Seen that before. I was on a trail headed out for my 1st ever rifle hunt and meet a hunting party crossing a 30 foot creek. One of the group ask me if I had a good pair of boots. I said yes, I have friend that work for Red Wing Shoe. As I look down to see he had on a pair of Nike painted black with 2 garbage bags in is pocket. Then he told me he was shooting a 338 ultra mag. He could afford the ammo, but no boots. They did pull a nice 5X5 out of that area and were very nice people

That was great thanks for letting us laugh with you. When we cross those N idaho rivers I just take the boots and socks off and wear Aqua shoes
across and stash them In the brush for the trip out. If they aren't there when we leave no big deal.

I have tried those as well but going 75 feet across my feet went numb! Holy crap that water can be cold, after that the garbage bag idea came about. Now I just use the Wiggie's they are awsome.

Yes it is cold even in mid july in some places.
