What's Your Favorite Rest?

Just got a new Bowtech Carbon Overdrive today and looking to get it all rigged up. First, let me say, these new bows today are pretty amazing. I had been shooting a Fred Bear Truth for the last 6-7 years and I liked it pretty good I thought...Until I shot some new ones today. I shot a few Mathews and a couple Bowtechs and settled on the Overdrive. Lightning fast and smooth as can be. I was really surprised at the difference in the new technology.

I've shot a Whisker Biscuit for a long time now and they have always performed well for me. However I was looking into getting a fall away type. Didn't really have a chance to check them out at the shop much so I thought I'd ask here. What's your favorite drop away style rest. My main concern is arrow containment. Don't want the arrow to fall off while I'm stalking through the woods. Is this a problem for any of yall that use these?

QAD ultrarest is a solid unit for the money. Also like trophey taker but put a rubber clip on to secure the arrow. Trophy taker is simpler mechanically so less scary to take in the backwoods. I have two bows set up for trips and I use one both rests

I can't imagine using anything but a Whisker Biscuit for hunting. They're foolproof.

Get busted because you got to let down and fiddle with your arrow rest one good or bad time and the QAD will be higher on your list. Im leary of a lot of moving parts but mine has never failed me. I think ultra rest is faster, but its a manual reset on a let down.

To be honest, my favorite one is what my bow has on it.
I have Quick Tune fork rests, they were my favorite for many years.
Mostly because thats all I had.

I now have a QAD HD Pro on my main bow and a Wisker Bisket on my backup.

I will have the QAD until I determine something else becomes my favorite

The two rest I have and find equal are the Ripcord Code Red drop away, and the Trophy Taker Xtreme Full containment top slot drop away. Both preform excellent and are reliable.

I recently switched from a QAD ultra rest to a PSE DOA rest made by AAE (Arizona archery enterprise). its faster than a qad on drop away. im very impressed with it.

Does the rest stay in the up position while the arrow is knocked and then drop away after you draw and release?

The QAD rest, once engaged will stay up even if you let down.
If you want the rest to go back down, you just use the thumb trigger to release

I have the same two rests! That's funny. I love them both and used both for elk hunting. I used to use a bodoodle and I would not recommend it for back country hunting cuz I bent one of the prongs while back country hunting. I got it to work for the remainder of my week but after that I got the trophy taker.

I am still trying to decide. I am shooting a Trophy Ridge fall away and a whisker biscuit and can't really determine which I like better. How long will the whisker biscuit last before needing to replace? I am totally new to the sport and haven't had enough arrows through either to find the clear winner. I will continue to shoot everything I can in order to find what suits me best.

I just bought the new AXT recon rest made of carbon fiber and titanium. Took me a day and a half to identify a rattle (small set screw that is in the extra hole on the horizontal adjustment), but now it is dead quiet. Easy enough to set up. Only have a couple dozen arrows through it so no real opinion yet.

Carbon bow, carbon arrows, carbon quiver, and now carbon rest. Time for a new sight???
