Sore feet/ankles

Postby timberland » 02 10, 2014 •  [Post 1]

My ankles hurt the day after I work them either hiking or eleptical. Its almost like planter faceitus but higher. sprained one last fall and I can still feel the injury after workouts. Any advice to speed healing and keep pain free? Anybody deal with physical therapy for ankle sprains?

I had an issue like this not too long ago. Knees and ankles were really soar and a simple fix for me was buying some nice insoles and taking a rest from my workouts. Joint pain can come down to not being hydrated enough as well. Check the minor things out first and if the pain does't fade you may want to get it checked out.

Start from the bottom. I was having some similar issues about 4 months ago, and it was as simple as switching shoes. I went from some Nike's to New Balance for running and weights, and felt better immediately.

I have had two ankle reconstruction surgeries on my right ankle. I have found that shoe are most important for preventing further injury and maintaining stability. My wife is has really done well for me finding things that help with some of my other joint injuries. Raw milk is one of the best things you can drink to help with joint problems.

Try soaking your feet in Epsom salt warm/hot water after you exercise.

In Nov 2012, I injured my left ankle. I was training for a half marathon. Ice and motrin did not help. Epsom salt was the only thing that reduced the swelling. I was able to continue training and do the half marathon.

New shoes might help, but most likely if its where you were injured it 's probably not heeled all the way. It's hard to do, but for a lot of ankle injuries doctor recommend immobility, like wearing a medical boot. Sometimes for weeks.
