Eberlestock Blue Widow - First Impressions

Loaded up my new Blue Widows with 35 lbs last Sunday and went for a 3 mile walk.

All I can say is WOW. This is way better than my old cruddy Badlands 2200, or Cabelas frame pack. It's amazing how good a well fitting pack carry's.

I'm actually looking forward to loading it up with my training sand bag later this spring to start getting ready for scouting season come June or July (once the snow melts in the high country).

I purchased a Blue Widow from S&S Archery and I love it. This year will be my first elk hunt and I'm looking foward to loading it up with meat! I've been loading it with a 50 lb bag of sweet feed and it think it carries better than my 20 lb Summit Viper treestand.

I have hauled meat and camp in mine plus a small doe my daughter shot. It is a great pack for the money.

I love mine. I've only used it on one backpack hunt, and it was 49.5# fully loaded, and it performed awesome. We hiked in and set up camp, where I shed most of the weight, so I probably only carried 20# daily while hunting, but it compresses down great for day hunts. I have put 80# in it while training, and yeah, it's heavy, but it carries the weight wonderfully. I'm really, really hoping to be able to put 100# of elk meat in it this fall for a pack out! Good, sturdy, versatile pack!
