Elk Outfitters in MT

Anyone have recomendations for Outfitter in MT for archery Elk? I have been looking into Elk Creek Outfitters and like what I hear so far. I hunt Wyoming for Elk and looking to try out MT next year. What areas are good in MT? Planning to go the 3rd week in Sept for archery.

Welcome Luke. I second Phantoms suggestion. Indian Summer sure seems to be THE GUY as far as Montana goes! If interested in a DIY hunt, his consulting business will be the way to go. If interested in guided or drop camp, I'm sure he will point you in the right direction there too! Good luck

My brother now owns and operates Indian Summer Outfitters. I am still the licensed outfitter for that business and handle all of the bookings. You can find some outfitter reviews for Indian Summer Outfitters on Bowsite. I have plenty of references as well. You can book drop camps for $1950 which includes a complete camp, packing in and out of you your gear and elk. Food is not included. Semi-guided hunts include all meals as well as a guide for one day of the hunt to familiarize you with some additional area and teach you a few tricks of the trade if you are interested in learning more. Fully guided 2 hunter per guide (2 on 1) hunts are $3500. All you do is eat, sleep, and hunt. A 1 on 1 fully guided hunt is $4500.

Here are two bulls from last year. Both first time archery elk hunters. The top one was a drop camp hunter. The bottom one guided.

Thanks for the feedback. I will check in to the info you provided. I have a buddy who went with Elk Creek Outfitters up by Heron, MT. Any insight on how those guys roll up there?
