Headin West Hunts: Last Call 4 Wyoming

Postby Indian Summer » 01 30, 2014 •  [Post 1]

You'll notice the name of this picture is "On The X" This was this hunters first bull. I gave him a plan complete with topo map. He was a solo hunter and killed this bull on the 3rd day of his hunt. Quite a nice spot to camp too in a big meadow between a creek with trout in it and a small pond. He called and said "Well I killed one." I had to ask... "Anywhere near one of my Xs?" He laughed and said "Nope..... I spotted a big 6 point bull which was on the X... but while stalking toward it I sat on a rock for a quick break and this bull stepped out of the timber so I let him have it!" He didn't quite make it to the X. I guess no plan is ever perfect. ;) The picture also shows the type of cover you can expect on a Wyoming hunt.

Many of you are aware of the services I offer for hunters interested in both outfitted and Do It Yourself hunts.

I still have openings in Wyoming for outfitted bow hunters and DIY packages for both bow and gun hunts. The Wyoming licenses are good for both archery and rifle season. The areas I offer are also for either sex elk hunting. I provide support for my clients which includes assisting with license applications. The deadline for Wyoming applications is tomorrow, Friday January 31st. It only takes 10 minutes to apply and I have step by step instructions to make it a breeze.

Wyoming is an excellent place to hunt elk. I like it particularly for new elk hunters because there is a lot of semi open country making it easy for anyone to lay their eyes on elk without really knowing the lay of the land or being an accomplished glasser. Locating elk is at least half the battle and this is quite a bit easier under those conditions. What is the #1 factor in a successful elk hunt? Location! So if anyone is still up in the air with their hunt plans and is interested feel free to send me an email with any questions.

Last call for Wyoming!
