Help me spend some money

I received a couple of Cabelas gift cards for my birthday and now I'm trying to figure out what to do with them. The cards are worth $120 and I may see some additional funds roll in tomorrow on the actual day. I'm thinking I could put it towards some upgraded binos, a fletching jig or some other elk oriented tool....If you had $200 to drop at Cabelas, what would you grab?

RATS! I thought this was a dream come true offer, but like so many opportunities we see on the WWW, this is not the offer I had hoped for. The truth is I don't need anything. If I buy something it is to restock or replace. With a $ 200 Cabelas gift card in hand, I would try to figure out which piece of equipment would give me the most help in the long term. If what you need costs less than $200 fill out your order with something like good socks. Speaking of good socks, I could use the $200 to replace a whole drawer full of them.

I try to only restock or replace items too.
If its a new item to me, I do my research before I buy, wait 1 week, an if Im still in need of it, only then will I purchase.

If I was to purchase something, it would be another Kelty Cache Hauler - that would leave you a few $$$ for Swede's socks

What do you already have? Or better yet what don't you have?

If you don't have any merino wool base layers I'd suggest that.

If you don't have a GPS that's a must.

Rangefinder.

Maybe a pair of those Bigfoot slippers.

Woo hoo! I love Cabelas gift certs. That's all my family/friends get me for Xmas or birthday. How are you set for trail cams? An extra one is always good. The fletching jig and accompanying gear is always a good idea. Do you have a field video cam? They sell a couple of them at Cabelas and are fun to play around with on hunts. Do you need to upgrade/replace your arrow target? Lastly, would recommend you check out the bargain basement on their web page.. there's usually some goodies there. Happy shopping!

I don't have one of Si's iced tea cups...
I'm kind of in upgrade or replace mode myself. I've got merino wool base layer, First Lite pants and shirt and merino wool socks. I've got good boots and a good GPS. My binos are pretty crappy and I have an older Bushnell rangefinder that lacks angle compensation. I grabbed a horn hunter full curl when pack fitter did that 1 day sale. Swede must be pretty hard on socks if he needs $200 worth setting up in a tree stand.

Wait on binos til you have at least $500. I've been wanting a 3d target for a long time...

I've got kinda the same thing going on, about $150 in gift cards to Cabelas, but also have $50 to bass pro, and a pair of bibs that were a Christmas gift from Dicks, as well as my sleeping bag that I am returning to Dicks. I wish I could get the cash back from Dicks for the bag and bibs, trade in my BPS gift card, and spend it all at Cabelas, Lol. My bag is a Koppen Viggio that I used last fall, a 20* bag that kept me plenty warm, but when I was airing it out about 2 months ago, the zipper broke, so I really dont want another one, but I doubt they'll give me anything other than an exchange...

So, I'm gonna be getting a new bag (from somewhere, just not sure where yet), and a First Lite base layer set, probably the Chama hoody.

If weight matters and you want down check out Golite. I have their Z10 3 season bag. 850 fill down and pertex shell. It's an awesome bag that actually meets it's temperature rating. Only available in their stores or online, so the gift cards don't help but a good bag was a high priority for me.

I'm usually good at spending other peoples money. But the last several times I've walked into a Cabela's, I walked out empty handed. Hmm! I suppose I have just about everything I need already. But it is still fun to window shop.

Do others agree that I should wait on the binos until I have at least $500? I've heard several people say they thought the Vortex diamondbacks were pretty good. I had planned to pick those up from Paul but it's hard to pass up the gift card. I also need to figure out an outer layer. My other hunting jacket is too heavy for bow season. What do you think of the ghillie jackets?
