Wolf calling

Anybody had any experiences yet? Going to give it a worl here in a few weeks. Did the coyote thing a ton as a kid, and my dad still does. He is coming up for a long weekend to try and call in a bigger dog. Have quite a few where I bowhunt, but even with our light winter won't be able to get there. Hoping to find some at lower elevations we can still get to without a sled that are responsive to calling.

where are you? im guessing idaho.. are you in the panhandle?> if so id be down to buy a wolf tag and come that way in a couple days on your say so.

When the time and place was right I've called them in... to 10 feet! I use a Sceery cow call. It's loud and piercing. One time I already knew they were there because they were howling away like mad. It was about 10 am. I walked out of camp, got on a really heavy game/cattle trail, and moved 10 feet above the trail. Sat up against a big fir tree and started calling. It only took 15 minutes for a big grey to come trotting down the trail. If I had a gun I could have sent him straight to the happy hunting ground in the sky.

They don't tolerate other k-9s like coyotes but I think ringing the dinner bell might work better.
