Horn Hunter Full Curl comparison

Postby Olydog09 » 01 15, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Hi guys. There seems to be a lot of interest on these boards in regards to the Horn Hunter Full Curl System. The setup has a lot of advantages going for it and the price tag is very manageable for a good elk hunting pack. I have been on a pack quest for a spell and the support for the Horn Hunter has piqued my interest.

I have a Kifaru Bikini with the Timberline 1 bag that I recently acquired. I have also recently had the Kuiu 5200 and 1850, Mystery Ranch Crew Cab, Badlands 4500, Badlands Ox and Eberlestock Blue Widow. I am going to compare the Full Curl System to the Kifaru BT-1 and give you guys my thoughts and opinions between the two. I know Paul has a Kifaru Bt-1 same as mine and ended up liking the Full Curl much better for his purposes. Being Paul's position here at Elknut and his moral compass he has to be very diplomatic with his comparisons of products that both come from fine sponsors of these forums. I am certain we can all understand this. I can be a little more opinionated I believe in the comparison of packs. I have no preset favorite. I am a big fan of Kifaru's customer service as they went above and beyond my expectations when I ordered my BT-1. I will always be a customer because they have a lot of fantastic products and are a great company. That being said I want to buy the gear that works best for me and that allows me to be honest in my assessment and maybe even a bit hyper critical.

If anyone has specific questions about the packs feel free to post them and I will do my best to answer them. I will not have the Full Curl pack for another week so there will be a little down time for people to post any questions and will allow me to try to come up with a set of criteria that will allow others to gauge which pack might be better for them. It is quite possible that what works for me is not what works for you. I will be giving my opinions but those are solely mine. A set of criteria will let others help decide for themselves what would be better for them. If anyone has suggestions for criteria please pm or post them up.
