Picked Up A New WallTent!

Yep, we broke down & picked up a New Walltent from the WallTent Shop, they are a Sponsor here & you can check them out by clicking on their Banner above if interested in one of their many models & sizes! We chose the 12X14 with the waterproof Fly & Floor. This is a very nice tent guys/gals, it was simple to put up, it took us about 10 minutes to erect. The first time you have to attach all ropes to tent & fly so that's an additional 20 minutes but it's a one time event. This is the 1st time we've had a tent with a complete floor & wow it's worth every penny to have it. It was nice especially with the rain & snow we ended up being in, we were warm & dry, even our feet! (grin)

These folks are great to deal with & have an excellent product, we had our Wilderness Tent in 2-3 days to our door after ordering, that's fast! Two thumbs up on a Great Tough Tent & their friendly Service! Rich the owner & Dan who takes orders will treat you fair & answer any questions you may have about their Tents, Woodstoves, Fly's, Floors, etc. - Their prices were great too! What ever happened to the popup camper? That thing was might nice as well.

We have not had that camper for 4 years now, we have used both walltents & a travel trailer depending on where we were hunting!

Love mine too Paul. Wouldn't buy one anywhere else. Better than Montana, Davis, Colorado, & Big Sky in my opinion. I like how your pic shows the snap buckles that hold the door open. You gotta love the heavy duty D rings sewn into the eaves too huh. Way better than grommets punched through the canvas. Screened back window for free is a nice bonus too.

You even have the same garbage can as me! (grin) Now if we only had the coordinates of that camp site.

Yes, the Tent will hopefully hold many memories for years to come. We started one on Saturday as Paul II connected on a nice Muley, he signed & dated the inside of the this Tent. (grin) I'm sure there will be many more to come!

Cliff, no I didn't pick it up, I ordered it & they shipped it right out, I had it in 2-3 days! The shipping was free if you bought their Tent & Angle Kit Brackets. I didn't pick up the poles from them for the frame, we'll cut our own here. Watch the video on their Site & you'll see what all the tent comes with, it's a very informative one! This is a very nice WallTent to say the least.

I thought I would check out the site and see whats going on. I noticed we have a new sponsor for wall tents.One of these has been on my list for about 5 years or so now.I went to the sponsors site and looked around,checked out some prices,( WOW ) especially the specials.The more I looked the more I looked.Next thing you know I had my note pad out and was doing a little figuring. Well before I new it I had been in and out of this site 2-3 times in just a couple days.I was seeing the possibilities and imagining the new house in the mountains during elk season. I collected all my notes and had a list of questions and then dialed the number today. A nice gentlemen named Dan answered the phone and we started in.I asked and he answered.I didn't feel rushed like there might have been somebody on another line or in any way. He was very patient and wanted to make sure all my concerns were addressed.They were and I said lets start the process.So I ordered me a nice little 12x14 with a front and back door,2 windows ( I like a good view ) and a fly. I was excited about their layaway program and opted to go that route and they were glad to accommodate me. I can't wait to get it.It will be like a kid in the candy store. Since I found out about the Elknut forum I have used it a lot and it has been very beneficial.I still have time to get whats still on my list and that is the Vortex Razors.So hang in there Paul,I will be calling you again someday in the near future.

You will love the tent, the 12X14 is exactly what we purchased as well, it's built very tough & the Fly is a great choice, you will like how tough it is too & it looks great on the Tent!

p.s. Just as a heads up we will have the Razor HD 10X42 on Black Friday Special this Friday, you'd better look at them then, they will be as low as they'll be in a long time! (grin)

So glad everyone is happy with the Wall Tent Shop.

You guys will notice a pattern to all of the sponsors I line up or suggest: Great people! Lyn at Clip-Shot, Jarret Owens with Alaska Guide Creations.

As a customer I have a choice of who gets my business. There have been times when I've spent a little more to buy something because of the people behind the product. I like to like the people I buy from if that makes sense.

By the way.... if you ever have a problem with a tent from these guys Rich (or Dan) will take care of it no questions asked.

And Dreamhunter... I've owned them all. If you've never owned a wall tent then you can't really compare but I can tell you they are top of the line. As good as it gets. Couple that with a free window, angle kits included AND free shipping and I can't see why anyone would buy a tent elsewhere.

Good luck with your new homes guys. Make sure they are dry as a bone when you put them away.

Elknut is the picture of your camp at a trailhead of did you pack all of that there? Looks like a nice setup you have

Pat, no trailhead there. We are pulled over about 100yds or so off the road. I don't believe that I can recall that in all of our years of elk or deer hunting that we've ever camped at a trailhead. When in unfamiliar country we find a good in-between camping spot that allows us to go either direction to hunt. We rarely ever hunt out of camp, camp for us is just a place to park our stuff & return to, we generally leave the area 5 miles to 30 miles in the direction we've settled on for the day. We choose spots on USGS 7.5 Minute Topo Maps that have been previously studied as to where we will hunt until elk are located. We generally have a base camp set up as above for returning too, we rarely if ever bivy for days at a time from base camp, there's been no need to! We've base camped with travel trailer, pop up tent campers & such but Wall Tent Systems are our favorite!
