Elk Bugling this Year. a Look Back

just out of curiosity, what dates did you hear the most bugles this year and where? for me it was between Sept 4-12 in CO and NM

Where I hunt, I heard the most bugles by real elk near the end of the season Sept 18-22. Eastern Oregon. Bugling was never great. Some hunters said they heard calls from elk on the ranch a little earlier.

13th thru the 19th or so till the rains hit in ID and they shut down. Heard a light handful in the early WA season around the 7-10th but minuscule compared to the third week of sep in the gem state.

the wind blew so hard most of the time I don't know how much I missed. Lots of snow and rain seemed to dampen the show; pardon the pun.

The rain ruined a few days in Oregon as well.

I heard bugles from the first day of season until the last day I hunted.
