Trading / Trying Broadheads

Going to throw this out there...

For those that like to try new stuff, like broadheads, I dont like having to buy a pack of 3.
There are expensive, and sometimes its not what you want.
Im a 'hands-on' guy - I like to 'touch' and 'handle' items before I commit

How about if someone has a broadhead you would like to try, or if you have a broadhead someone
else would like to try, trade them or send them one?

If you like it, great!
Or if you dont, thats fine too

Just send/give it back to them

I came up with this idea when Huntography gave me a BH to try [HELIX]
I havent tried it yet but will this weekend.

I shoot Slick Trick 100gr Standards
If anyone would like to try one, let me know

I'd be happy to to help you out Brad. But all I have are 100gr & 125 gr Bear Razorheads. You can't hardly find them anymore so I switched to 125 gr Magnus Stingers. Great head and they fly like field points. So, I'm sticking with them. Once I find something that works for me, I never feel the urge to experiment. The Bears lasted me for close to 40 years until they became hard to find.

But, if you want to play with the old razorheads, I'd be happy to sent you some!

I was going to sell my Montec CS 100 gr BH on AT, but I would rather just give them to people who want to try them.

If there is a new bowhunter, especially a woman, youth or veteran that needs to be outfitted with gear, I would be willing to send a 3 pack of them to you. AT has a Pay It Forward thread, but I am a little wary of the those asking for free gear on AT. Most seem genuine on that thread. It would be nice if this forum also had a Pay It Forward thread. I am a little biased and would like to give my unused gear to a woman, youth or veteran to get them started in archery.

I have 6 G5 Montec CS 100 grain BH. 4 have been shot into foam blocks. I really can't tell which have been shot. They did shoot like field points. If you want to try one, send me a PM with your full name and address.

I don't need to try any other BH. I will be staying with my 125 grain Magnus Stingers until they prove to be inadequate.

Are your Magnus Stingers 2 blade or 4?

I also have some 145gr Eskilite Zwickeys that I shoot in my recurve

My stingers are125 gr. 4 blade. I haven't tried them with the bleeders out. No need to. They fly perfect just like they are. I've seen several animals shot with Stingers and DANG! they open up a big hole.

I have 3 g5 strikers 125grs, 3 montecs ss 125gr.

im looking for something for my wifes new setup. im almost thinking of a two blade 125gr head for her. im always looking for a new head to try for myself as well.

I also have a few 50gr brass insert weights for those looking to add some weight to there arrows.

jerinmn , I use Magnus stingers as well as WW and Cnelk. I did a lot of research for a broadhead for my wife and the Magnus stingers rated extremely well.Long story short We have both been shooting them for years. They work very well. I use the 100 grain heads with the bleeder blades, what Magnus calls the 4 blade I just think that they open up the wound channel a little better than the 2 blade for easier tracking. JMO I don't think that you give up much in penetration for the extra cuting of the bleeder blades. I have never used the buzzcut version . I have found the regular Stingers very easy to sharpen. So I have not switched either. Their warranty is top notch as well. Hope this helps---> Troy

Ive thought a lot about the stingers but who do the perform on angled shot, i dont mean steep angles but say a quartering to shot? Not that id advise her to take a shot like that but for my own curiosities. I dont know why, ive never tested it, but i dont care for the point on them style heads.?. I fear they will glance off at a steep angle instead of digging in. An experience with this?

I have shot elk in the shirt pocket and had the arrow disappear clear to the nock.390 grain arrow at 255 fps. If there is a BH out there that will do it, I would put money on the stingers. How much poundage does she shoot? KE created? Draw length etc? How close can you get them to her? That shot is 20 yards and under! Stingers are one of the best choices for a short draw low poundage setup.

im not sure about her numbers yet. still playing with arrow weights and speed. but her dl is 25 1/2" poundage right now is 50# hopefully 55# by hunting season. here arrows I just helped her tune are 388gr. they tuned great. I have a 100gr point and 50gr brass insert weight behind the insert for a little more FOC and to lighten the spine up. she shooting a 400 spine right now arrows are 27" like I said im not sure of speed yet. I need to get a chrono one of these days.

Howdy. I've been shooting the Swacker broadheads here on my local deer starting last year. I've not had any deer go past 35 yards before collapsing. I'm very impressed with them! My wife and I harvested 5 deer using them. I see where they get their name as they actually make a "swacking" sound on the double lung pass throughs. You might think about giving them a look.
