Victory VAP arrows

Postby MT Beard » 10 16, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Curious if any of you have used these shafts and what your experience with them has been like. Sportsman's Warehouse in Missoula had these arrows for 74$ a dozen. I picked up some V3 350's and am waiting on some firenock outserts to get a 1/2 doz put together and see how they shoot out of a 70lb switchback. If anyone near Missoula is looking for these arrows, Sportsmans still has a few 350's and quite a few 400's. The fella at the counter told me that they are no longer stocking/carrying these arrows and are trying to get rid of them. The 400's are priced at 24$ a 1/2 doz.

Matt, they are a very tough arrow. You got a good deal on them because they are the V 3 -- They come in V-1 -- V-2 & V-3 --- V-3 being the less desirable because they are not as straight, just the same they are tough! I've done penetration tests with them, they fly great & hit hard & hold up to punishment as well as one can expect!

To make them a V-2 cut an inch off the Nock end then cut them to the needed length off the insert end, this will help straighten them out & remove the oblong shape on Nock end, this is where they are determined to be a V-3. This info was given to me straight from Victory quite some time ago! Good Luck.

Tripleb -- PM me if you'd like me to pick up some for you, not sure how long they will be there for that price.

Elknut- Thanks! That is good information. I haven't cut them yet so I'll take a bit from each end.

Let the tinkering begin!
