bow season over

so now what do I hunt. im taking my son on a couple rifle hunts but ive already got cabin fever an today was the last day. I cant get a mulie tag, got both of my elk tags for archery, so what do you co guys do after bowseason ends.

waterfowl is my passion, but I goose hunted out here twice last year and I cannot take the sand like dirt. I have to wear hard contacts an it gets underneath them an is like having dirt in your eyes all day. I am checking into ducks an how the reservation system works. been doing a lot of research on leftover tags today. cant buy an elk but could do a female pronghorn b list. some deer tags left but all mulies on private property tags only that I seen an figured getting permission to hunt would be like winning the lottery. would love a bear tag but again its all private property tags for b list.
im not complaining just trying to figure out what to do now. havnt lived in Colorado this time of year.

I think you are in a descent spot for ducks. I am.going to try on the platte this season as well.

Here in Nebraska the bow season for deer goes till the end of the year. I usually hunt real hard the week before rifle starts ( around the 10th of Nov) as the rut is usually in high gear. Then around the 20th or so of Nov. I lay a lot of steel and cable as I trap and snare for coon first then yotes , fox and cats....... that usually takes me to the end of Febr. Also I do sell a few nite time predator hunts in the Dec. thru Febr. time period. Fall and winter is the time I love the most so I try to take full advantage of the outdoors.

October is a month where I prepare for winter.
Getting snowmobiles ready, winterizing the boat, fall lawn work, harvest garden items, get out the rifles and go to the range, start reloading, making elk sausage....

For the first time in 41 years, I have NO eastern plains archery deer tag in pocket. Generally, I get to chase mulies & white tails until the end of the year. Still holding out hope for a landowner tag somehow. If not, probably get after upland birds & calling coyotes a bunch. Predator control is a favorite past time for me.

Now it is on to deer hunting,snowmobiling and some ice fishing.

Its all about the webbed feet now! Ducks and geese are plentiful especially in the Northern CO region. Windsor has been said to be a waterfowl mecca and I happen to know a guy that is also a waterfowl junkie...

Thanks, well be trying again this weekend. His comment was he want's to shoot a big buck like dad and grandpa. Ugh.....just shoot one with antlers son!
