New Mexico unit 12 near Datil and Pie town

i am headed to New Mexico unit 12 for 8 days this weekend. just wondering about the quality of bulls in this unit. i will be on a 30000 acre private ranch. thanks for any info

oh i have hunted in Chama the last 2 years. Should the quality of bulls be better in unit 12 than Chama

i was hunting at about 10000 to 11000 feet in chama and my guide says we will be at 7000 to 8000 on this ranch.

I don't know a lot about unit 12 other than there is a lot of private land. I am sure you were using Datil as just a reference point but to be clear Datil is right in-between unit 13 and 16e. You don't actually get into unit 12 until you hit pie town. You might want to check bowsite I do remember a tread a while back talking about units 12 and 15.

thanks for the info. i was just using datil as to the ref point to meet my guide. I think we will be staying close to unit 12 maybe.I hope we have a good hunt.
