Camp Shower

Just thought id share a pic of my camp "shower" i rigged up today.Last year we were not equipped well to bathe so i thought this was nice and simple.
Just a pump sprayer and a garden hose sprayer,pump it up and boom!you have a way to clean up

i am gonna do this!! hey wrap an insulation layer over the thing and i bet water stays hot a long time.

you just gave my a Christmas idea for my brother. we use his pop up trailer..you could run a hose in easy.

Quick question, is that a special fitting for the garden hose sprayer portion? What do I look for at the hardware store? Thanks ahead of time

Its a common fitting you can find next to the garden hoses.I had to pur an extra rubber seal in there and now does not leak a drop

Paint it black and put it in the sun.

On mine, I just unscrewed the wand off of the sprayer squeeze handle and then screwed the tip directly to the handle. No need for a special shower head that way.

Our Lowes has a dark green that should do the trick

I use a metal pump sprayer, so I can set it on the camp stove and heat the water. I use a magnetic temperature gauge made for wood stoves to know how hot it is. Remember to drain the nozzle on the nights when the temperature drops below freezing.

One other thing I did to mine was to add about 6 feet of plastic tubing to it. That way you can easily reach the top of your head without having to lift or hang the sprayer.

How big is the sprayer and do you have to pump it up mid shower or will it last long enough? I like the longer hose idea. I have hung a bag in the past and that is awkward. This idea would be easier and work even if no trees nearby to hang a bag by.

i believe its a 3 gal sprayer. I only use half the water for each shower . 2/3 cold water 1/3 hot water equals nice and warm. You may have to pump it up once or twice which isn't a big deal only takes a few seconds I suggest getting a high quality sprayer that will last. I was going to put a longer hose on mine as well but didn't have the time to do so. I would suggest a longer hose it does make it easier.

Extending the hose length only takes a few seconds. Just go to the hardware store and buy some clear plastic hose that is the same ID as your sprayer hoses OD. Cut the sprayer hose in to and slide the new clear hose over each end about 3-4 inches. WA LA! All done, simple as that!

Great shower for cheap. I think my sprayer is two gallon.

used the one I rigged up this year and it sure was nice to have a nice shower after a long day. I used a camper shower head on a piece of pvc that I tiedto a tree, had a camper style 12 volt pump with a hose into my water container and a cord with clips that I hooked up to my atv. Worked great.

I switched this year from a Zodi (that thing SUCKED) to using my turkey fryer! Fill the big pot with water, heat it on the burner that it came with, and then use that to fill up a 15 gallon tote - one boiling pot of water to about 10 gallons of cold creek water and you've got a nice hot water supply. After that, I use a small sauce pan as the dipper. It's a bit primitive, but I don't have to mess with shower heads, pumps, or lack of water. Dip that pan in the water and pour! Quick shower in just a few minutes. We also use an outside shower enclosure, which may be a bit fancy for some of you guys, but it sure is nice when the breeze is blowing and it'll give you a relatively warm place to shower and get dressed again without freezing your stones off.

I do the same thing. I take a gallon water jug and stab a hole in the lid and let the hot water dribble on me. Better than nothing.
