finding cows

the last two yrs I have found a ton of cow droppings, but have literally not seen a cow. ive seen 6 bulls within 150 yds the last two yrs. why cant I find cows.

What Im seeing cows are the smart ones( and very mature bulls catch on too). In my are I tend to see lots of droppings as elk leave their bedding area.
Cows are still watching over their calves and arent herded up yet. And some of those small group can stay comfortabley in a thicksmall area, Or as an example in my area, a depredation hunt just took place and they generally move in the dark

Saw plenty of cows ... in the fields by Walden on the way home :D
