dead on rangefinder

Any of you use one of these? I have used one for two years and I love it. I was out shooting tonight at unknown ranges and only used this to get my distances and I made lethal shots with broadheads on the 3d targets on all shots out to 60. Switched to field points out to 80 and the rangefinder worked great. I carry a laser range finder but this is a great backup and you can use it at full draw

I have one that I have not had a chance to use on an elk yet. After miss a bull at 20 yards thinking it was farther I set this up for quick ranging when I dont have time to use my Vortex range finder. It has pins that you set up to gap the body hight at different yardages.

it essentially says, "trust us, this works!!"

if i had to guess, it averages the size of an animal, and you fit the gap?

I just watched the short video on the home page showing it in use. But yes, it assumes height of average elk. ....

You can do essentially the same thing with your pins I say average elk is around 29" went to my trusty wood fence found a knot 28 1/2" off the ground put top pin on knot walk back to where bottom pin is at ground level check range back up more till second from bottom is right at ground level with top pin on knot pull out range finder read range continue on its not perfect but it will usually get you close enough for a kill shot and is a range reference while at full draw. you can do same thing if your focused on deer use a gap or target or make a mark on the side of your house about 18" for mule deer have no idea average depth for a white tail deer . Hope all this makes sense so if my top pin is on an elks back and bottom pin is at brisket line I know he is basically 26 yrds if top pin on his back and brisket is at second from bottom I know he is close to 35 yards then hold accordingly

You can do this with any two fixed points. The advantage to this device is how easy it makes it and you don't have to remember any memorized points and distances in the heat of the moment with a trophy standing in front of you.
