Which Multi-tool?

Leatherman, Gerber SOG etc. Which multi-tool do you prefer? I like my Gerber for the one handed opening so that I can get to it when I am holding whatever I need the pliers for with my other hand.

I have a Leatherman Wave, and would not trade it. It is a bit heavy, but I like having the diamond file for sharpening, and saw blade just is case.

Ive worn-out,broke a couple Leathermans. The Gerbers seem a bit heavier duty Ive carried the same Gerber for 4 years now and just gave away my pickup Leatherman

I use a Gerber, only because it was a gift. If I had to purchase one it would be whatever brand had a deal. They all pretty much do the same thing.

i like the older leathermans.

the ones stamped with a portland OR etching. i have one of those and two i assume are imports.. the ameican one is nicer.

the knives get soooo sharp!

It seems like every company is coming out with new products that we "must have." Has anyone found the perfect multi tool to carry in their packs while bow hunting? My search seems to continue...

I have an older Leatherman. The problem with all of them is they are soooo heavy! I think I could find better places for that weight.

I too have the leatherman wave and love that thing. Leatherman' warranty is awesome. I have broke 2 of the blades working and instead of just fixing them they sent me their new model. Couldn't be happier with it.

I think I have. The one that is cheapest. Does anyone else have a half dozen of the "quality brand" ones sitting around broken? I have used all of them... various models of Leathermans and Gerbers. I prefer the Gerber because of the spring loaded pliers making them good for one handed operation. But I look at multi tools as something with a limited lifespan. A piece of gear that is essentially a throw away item. They have become so expensive that it breaks your heart when the pliers break or the knife blade gets trashed. So anymore I just use cheap versions with brand names like Winchester or Browning. You can buy like 10 of them for the cost of 1 those top of the line ones. So when I break one I toss it in the can without a thought and buy another one.

At Christmas I got a cheapo in the office gift exchange. Im quite surprised how well it is working out. Maybe the handiest tool is the flashlight

In my opinion the "name brand" manufacturers are now living off of their names, I do LOVE my swiss army knife though.
