Playbook NOT Weatherproof...

Be careful guys. Even though it says that the playbook is designed for in the field use, don't get it wet or the pages will stick together like a 1992 Hustler. Does anyone have one they can do without, perhaps the audio version for my long commute to work??

Mine got dunked in something by my boys. I just set it out to dry with the pages not touching. It is a bit more wavy but it is readable.

Guys, let's use some common sense here. In the Field use refers to the PlayBooks contents & the valuable info inside that can be referred to during an encounter or a refreshing of ones mind in camp or a noon time resting period of events for the day or midday tactics, it has nothing to do with being waterproof, it's like any item within your pack or on your person that requires protection from the elements. If any who have purchased the PlayBook & need a replacement for whatever reason let me know & you will get one at half price. Thanks.

Can't beat that offer from Paul. Mine has gotten soaked from rain and sweat (think 90 degrees in Washington in early Sept) and it's still ticking. Also just started listening to the Elknut CDs to refresh my memory and get ready for Sept. Good luck.

I always take a roll of toilet paper for in the field use but it's best used dry too.

It would cost like $100 to print the Playbook on Tyvek to be water proof. Probably have a limited market for them at that price Paul! lol

A large zip lock bag would be a good place to store you Playbook. If you have a fairly large ziplock bag you could even open and read your book in a rainstorm and still protect your book. Generally I encounter very few rainstorm situations so protecting my book is not much of an issue.

Come on folks use some common sense, when paper get’s wet bad things happen. I have one of the first few released (#22) back in 2009 and I have carried it in field, in a zip lock bag, since I got it (guess that’s my extra weight luxury item), it’s been through a variety of conditions including spending a night on a rock and still is holding together pretty well…….so I must say I am pretty impressed with it’s durability for only 21 bucks and of course the information provided (which 100% water proof) is makes it an amazing deal….

The playbook is like a good pair of boots.
Very useful, but try not to get them wet...

I too have gotten mine wet by some sort of means, (boots and play book)
But they will recover.
