Gotta Have Two of Those

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 06 21, 2013 •  [Post 1]

What do you cats feel you "must" have two of when you're miles away from the truck? Without a spare one of these, you could really be up the creek without a paddle. I know I always carry two headlamps and at least two diaphragms. What about you folks?

Two flashlights, last year it was one small flashlight and one headlamp. (also extra lith. batteries) Once I went turkey hunting a hour or so before dawn and just started to set up the blind and the only flashlight I had died. Being out there just an hour in the dark waiting for light to find where you set the bow and my other gear was no fun. I couldn't imagine being in the mountains days on end without a flashlight.

Two ways to start a fire, for sure.

It's nice to have two ways to purify water, too. (Filter, sure, but then to bring along some tablets is a great backup).

Backup batteries are nice.

One can get carried away worrying about things like this, but some duplication is just smart.

2 lights, 2 releases, extra batteries, and two ways to tell direction (one of which is a compass for those times when the GPS doesn't pick up).

I always carry 2 arrows. 1 for the kill & the other to signal my buddies to come help with the pack out.Dont know why the 2nd arrow as they always never show up  actually, I always have spare batteries & a couple kinds of fire starter as well as a spare release.

I carry two releases (or gloves if the recurve is along). I carry a water filter and backup tablets, and I normally have 2-3 extra pairs of socks.

For light I have a zebralight headlamp and a fenix flashlight, both of which run on one AA Lithium. I carry two extra lithium AA's for flashlights, GPS, or spot.

excellent idea. I wonder how long it would take to teach that iron head to go and come back with something?
