not something people talk about much, but some of us own some great hunting boots. a real investment.

i have tried alot of leather boot conditioners. mink oils ----> sno seal. i've recently stolen my wife's leather purse conditioner made my Coach to try. (way to wimpy..not even sure it is doing anything). i even tried making my own with some beeswax from a buddies hive and mineral oil. nope.

i sucked it up and ordered up some Obernauf LP. i am on my second year of owning my beloved hunting boots and i want them to last. i hate boot shopping. the stuff showed up. instructions say to simply work it into the leather with your hands. it is hard paste. like chapstick. maybe harder. but the warmth of your hands melt it some and you can really work it in there. i did my hunting boots that were kinda dry from my recent backpack trip. they came out GREAT! it leaves the lightest feeling coating of waxiness. (unlike sno seal) i got on a roll and did all my work boots as well. one pair was really bad from concrete pours and me attempting to walk on huge rebar mats. they also came out great!

they will darken the leather so i would only feel comfy using it on boots i dont care if they darken. i bet my 8 oz container will last most of my lifetime. good stuff.

I also use this on the collar of my leather motorcycle jacket...keeps it real soft.

Tried and true! I've used it for years and years. When my boots are new I'll slop it on thick and then hit them with a hair dryer to really let it flow into the grovves especially where the sole meets the upper, round the lace holes, and in the folds of the tounge. It will literally disappear then I hand rub on another coat. Awesome stuff. On a side note I found out the hard way you can't take it through the airlines. I lost an entire brand new jar to the FAA.
