Thanks I.S. I was reluctant to post the picture because of the smoke in the air. But that is part of the elk hunting experience where I go. The picture shows just a part of Hells Canyon.

Thank you, RJ, Rancho, and all who participated.
I wish the picture could have included the warmth of the afternoon sun. Maybe it would have been better if it included the shivering cold wind that bites at you after sunset, and sometimes during the day. Part of the great hunting experience of being there is to see and hear the pine squirrels which are so active during archery season.
To finish off the picture I would like to add the long days that wear a hunter down waiting in a tree stand for a miserable and aggravating elk to finally show up. When he arrives, there is no doubt you are ready to kill. It is as much revenge as anything I can think of for all the days spent waiting and waiting. Dang, I wish I was there now!
