Meat pole 2026

Postby Lefty » 03 20, 2026 •  [Post 1]

Aren't you guys lucky I didn't post any Ducks or Canada geese
We had a pretty good shoot considering the high winds we had to deal with,
Daisy had a great day
And Tim wouldn't want his picture posted

Most days there was just three of us.
Some days only two of us

They taste so much better than Canada. Geese and regular Ducks.
That was our biggest day with three of us 41 birds
We had a 39 Bird Day where five of us rotated in and out
29 in a 31 day
Or four of us were taking turns hunting.

There were a few days cold conditions. Daisy got worn out. I was quite pleased. She made some very long blind retrieves.

It's been a busy few days
Shot the bear the last minutes of shooting
Packed her out. Headed for home. Put her on ice starting too early in the morning. I butchered a process the meat Saturday and Sunday. I flushed the hide
yesterday. I've been working on the skull
Today more skull work and then I'm going to start working on bobcat

I'll add one of my bears, didn't get a picture of the other one. This one was killed roughly 8 miles from the truck after doing over 24 miles in the previous 24 hours hiking in and then packing my first bear out and then back in to camp. Very long day. Beautiful boar right at 6'. Killed while he was inhaling blueberries.
