None of my group did. 6 of us applied in 3 different groups, no one drew anything.

Crap, sorry about that brother. Yes, I was shocked when I drew both deer and wapiti. It’s a conundrum though.. hunting partner did not draw. We’re going through the fall plan now to figure out options.

Dang Boss! You lucky son-of-a-gun! Need a camp cook? My wife says I make fantastic fried eggs. Unfortunately that's about all I cook. LOL! ;)

I’d be curious to know where you hunt in Idaho. With Wyoming licenses getting tougher to get. I’ve gotten a few tips and have been looking at some places in Idaho to hunt. So far so good. I like the licensing system. For someone just getting into the game it’s pretty nice to have an equal chance of drawing.

With the exception of a special draw tag in SW Idaho, I’ve always hunted up in the panhandle. It’s steep and thick up there but there are elk there. The hunting pressure has increased dramatically in the last 4 years for some reason; there was a time when buddy and I never saw a single person in the elk woods.

Years ago I walked away from thick country. I can kill elk there but I don’t find it to be nearly as much fun. I’m looking southwest along the Wyoming border. I can see it from my Wyoming spots.

Hunting buddy just drew his Idaho elk tag in the second draw today… Amazing as reportedly there were less than 100 left/available. It’s on now 8-).

Buddy of mine and his Dad drew elk tags on the 2nd go around. My group did not. Looking at controlled hunt opportunities now.
