Cooking game.

Postby Lefty » 01 14, 2026 •  [Post 1]

What kind of game did you process this year and what are some of your favorite method of preparing your game.

This years elk: all cuts were either steaks or grind.
Ended up with 30lbs of jerky and the rest was burger from the grind. Meat loaf is definitely the favorite of burger, some stews/soups, tacos

most ducks and geese breasts; skin on or off is made into fied breast or finger panfried steak;.
Upland: my preferred method is cream sauce.

Didnt kill a bear last season , but bear meat is cu tinot steak bites to assure full cooking, without over cookin

salt and pepper, butter, onion, and Alpine seasoning , Rosemary and thyme , Montrose steak are my other main go to seasoning..

2 young turkey. All turkey meat was ground with onions and bacon.
2 whitetail bucks. Steaks and burger. I was in a hurry and forgot to make any roasts.
Helped a hunting friend process his elk.

My favorite wild game meal will always be elk steak chucks on a stick roasted over a fire at elk camp.
Elk are where you find em...
