Hunt camp snacks an treats

Postby Lefty » 08 17, 2025 •  [Post 1]

I generally come home once a week on Saturday for Sunday: do laundry ,, and fresh supplies,

What treats, snacks or favorites do you have at camp
We celebrate kills with a cold Mountain Dew, However the rest of the hunt brings, fresh out of the orchard apples, plums and pears, sometimes refrigerator pickles, often others bring jerky.

As a kid mom would bring up German staples, to deer camp, dumplings, Kraut and brats 8-)

This year I plan to add pickled eggs to camp,,, Anyone have a favorite recipe?

Always love me some snacks!!!

My wife makes some amazing peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate chip banana muffins….

Always look forward to candy bars (probably my biggest weakness in this life)

Mrs Wapiti always makes me a few loaves of banana bread, which I chop in half and vacuum seal/freeze. Good for evening desert and really even breakfast ;)

I do those little uncrustable pb&j's. Salami sliders, jerky, lunchables lol whatever is minimal prep and will mostly be gone by lunch time. Can't go without a dew but I leave them in camp. Can't stand a shooken up pop

My wife’s chocolate chip banana muffins are breakfast every morning I hunt and I never get sick of them…. they have become my favorite hunting food.

Brought back some memories.
My wife does not make banana bread for me. I made simple comment, A long ago female lake friend used more butter and put walnuts in the banana bread she made for me, My first huge mistake as a married guy :o
