July 2025 WapitiTalk Photo of the Month Contest

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 07 01, 2025 •  [Post 1]

This month’s theme is “Freestyle”. Let's see some outdoor themes images.
1. One photo submission allowed per month, per member (yep, stinky MODs may enter a photo also).
2. Photo must relate to the monthly theme (or risk being disqualified).
3. Do not use photo editing software to enhance your photo. Just post the photo as it was taken with your camera, smart phone, trail cam, etc. You may have to resize some photos so they are accepted by the forum software; remember, photos can only be 800X600 pixels "MAX" for our forum.
4. You may use older photos you have on hand, but, do not submit a photo that has won a previous WT photo contest.
5. Any WT member may enter a photo they have taken or appear in.
6. Judging – WT members will vote on monthly photo submissions.
7. Contest period will normally end the last day of the month.
8. Winner must contact WapitiTalk1 via PM and provide mailing address for prize (your prize may be sent directly from a WT sponsor or from RJ).
9. Prizes will vary from month to month.
10. All monthly winners will be automatically entered into the "photo of the year" contest.

The prize for the July 2025 contest is to be determined.

Im going to lead-off with Anna's Hummingbird. She is sitting on a nest that is the size of a golf ball!! (Zoomed way in).

I'm sure I will lose to a picture with kids or dead animals.

I had to screenshot this off a video. This buck is around my house every night. What a buck! He is a little bigger than that picture and should go 170 or more I am thinking. Even non-deer hunters are excited. Odds are great he will not get shot as most of his range is in the city limits. Even if I could hunt him, I don't think I could shoot a buck I can watch every night!

Shoot that buck Tig! In SW Pa there are monsters in the city and suburbs. That’s where the best hunting is. Those deer seem easy from the window. But if they see you or smell you you won’t see them again during daylight hours. There are guys around Pittsburgh who consistently pattern and kill big bucks. But they put lots of time into it.

If you’d feel guilty, give me your address and I’ll swing by and you can show me where he hangs out. We can finally meet and talk about elk hunting and other nonsense.

Went out and watched him last night at about 75 yards for 10 minutes. He was just munching on soybeans. What an impressive animal. He would swing his head and it was just amazing how you could tell it was heavy for his neck.

This guy was in the hospital parking lot this morning. It is right across the street from my house in suburban Denver.

No. I think Thegreatwapiti put that one up on national forest land. I have a notion to go tear it down.

I actually built it in Rocky Mountain National Park. Should be fine.

Ok no dead stuff this month. Meet Amy. My sweetheart. Right at home among the wild flowers. Loves to hunt. Currently saving points for Wyoming elk and antelope. Made a heck of a shot on a whitetail buck last year. I’m a lucky man.
