Well crap, I’m sorry you didn’t pull any tags mister . It’s not a very good system IMO. Buddy and I lucked out and both pulled elk tags, first regular Idaho tags for us in a few years.

It doesn't help that the tags we're after are some of the most sought after in the state. But I was in line at a dealer 7th man back yesterday and logged in on my phone number 345, the best I've ever gotten. Tags sold out when I was 1 man back from the counter, never got a chance to log on. Seems the only way to know I'll get one is to make sure I'm first in line at a dealer, otherwise it's unlikely.

7mm...Just an FYI but if you are logged in and in line it wont let you buy from the dealer.

At least that is my experience. I was told it would work but my brother in law did that a few years ago. It wouldnt let the dealer put the tag in his cart. It said the tag was available but it just wouldnt add it... Maybe it was just a glitch that day but i figured i would pass it along.

My brother in law was able to get his elk tag. It is not as highly sought after as some tags so it definitley helps the odds.

Got a tag but in an area where I have never hunted...but i am looking forward to the new terrain and challenge. the 2025 season will be the 5th year since i was in Idaho. The unit we usually hunt sold out in 12 minutes...probably never be able to hunt it again with the system the way it is.

Yep the Idaho system needs to change. Im worried were going to get stuck as residents with the same type of mess.

I have an archery tag, my primary weapon of choice.
I do like the states that offer extended seasons to hunt the rifle though if you are unsuccessful in archery...its a nice perk.

I feel we only landed a tag because my B.I.L. went to a vendor. He lives in Utah and is about 30 minutes from Idaho. Tried the online system since they started it and it's a joke as everyone knows. I would recommend going to a vendor/retailer for best odds if you can.

I got a unit 1 general deer tag. Tag i wanted. Logged in on 5 devices. Best number was about 4900 i believe. Had the same tag last season but didnt even hunt. Life threw me a few curve balls, and hunting just didnt seem too important i guess.
