Merry Xmas and Thank You!

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 12 22, 2016 •  [Post 1]

It's been just over a year since Elknut1 offered me the reigns of the former Elknut Hunting Forum (and at the bargain price of 2.3 million dollars and a bottle of Alpine Touch seasoning, how could I refuse?). Since then, I think we've kept the forum campfire burning brightly, activated new members (which is a very important part of a successful, active forum), added a good bunch of new forum sponsors, created some new sub-forums, sprinkled in some fun sponsor promotional contests, and IMO, have continued Elknut's vision of a clean, informative, and active hunting forum. I'm not going to lie, it is quite a bit of work keeping the forum rolling strong but with the help of our ornery MODs (Indian Summer, Lefty, and Trophyhill), the members and sponsors that have been with us for a long time, and the members that join our ranks every month, I think we're staying on the correct azimuth. I do get a bit tired of Indian Summer and Lefty borrowing the company leer jet and not cleaning the elk hair out of it before they return it but oh well, I guess that's just something I have to live with.

Wishing all you Wapiti Talk members and your families a very Merry Xmas, a healthy and prosperous new year, and an excellent 2017 hunting season! I sincerely thank all of you for being part of our elk hunting campfire.

At least Joe cleaned out the blood from Leer jet this time. Customs was starting to ask some questions about what was dripping out of the doors!

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to you and your family RJ. By the way I'd like to reserve the Leer for next September before anyone else ask for it.

Merry, Happy, Jolly, Ho Ho Ho to WapitiTalkers near and far; mods and the Big Kahuna Rory. I have enjoyed and benefitted from this forum more this year than ever: Met Deanmac for a good Sept. hunt, shared pics, advice and stories w many of you, and took my best buck @ the end of Nov. How good?

Thanks to you all for making this the BEST elk forum; mentoring new hunters, advocating for our sport, always expressing support, disagreeing civilly, sharing generously, keeping it real and positive.

Here's my New Year's toast to us, borrowed from an old movie (can you name the flick?) "I'd rather be here with you than with the finest people in the world."
