Kids! Braggin' Board!

I thought it would be fun to put up a thread where we can brag about our kids. I know a lot of us are pretty humble about our personal accomplishments, but let's throw out the humbleness and hear about our kids' accomplishments!

I will start. I am really proud of my 12 year old daughter Lauren. She decided to shoot on the high school trap team this fall and started in mid-September with a 3 and a 7 on her first 2 rounds (a round is 25). Flash forward to yesterday. She shot a 20 and a 16! It sure is fun to see the excitement in her and watch her abilities grow!!

Where to begin? My son who is also 12 is currently carrying a 4 point gpa. Junior national honor society. Youth group at church and is looking forward to helping with Joy Club next year. Starting offensive and defensive line on a football team of 36 kids. Has killed way nicer bucks than his dad, and more of them. Is a crack shot with a rifle. Bats left or right handed. Will play any position on the baseball field with no “but coach.” He is a leader. As a parent my only dream is he will be better than what I have become. In more than one way I can see he already has.

My daughters are adults now but there was a whole string of things.
In 4 H they were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in shooting sports,
The youngest two had a stack of ribbons/ Rosettes for equine showmanship and riding and western. And took every top ribbon in dogs.
All three daughters were selected for National Honor Society.
My youngest HS yearbook picture was her,.. grinning beside the head of the moose she killed
Middle daughter took a 325 yards shot on an antelope,.. put a 2nd bullet 3/4 inch away before it hit the dirt.
Oldest was baiting her own hooks and expertly casting an open face reel before she was 5

Plenty of those small things that just make you feel blessed.

But maybe more than anything, No problems as they were growing up,... that didnt start until after HS

Ha, literally 2 minutes before I read this, I realized that my 8 year old son is better at yo-yo than I am. Does that count?

3 kids, 3 high school valedictorians, 3 full ride academic scholarships to the Univ. of Nebraska. Proud and Thankful!

My 2 boys are both Eagle Scouts, and both in Medical school. One doing an MD/PhD at Univ. of Chicago, the other at Univ. of Nebraska. Both love to camp/hike/climb. One could care less about hunting , and the other may be worse than me (hunting addiction).

My son that loves hunting has yet to go Elk hunting, as his school schedule will not allow it. I am purchasing preference points for him in both Colorado and Wyoming, and will continue to do so until he can go elk hunting with me. I will be his guide, and he will be able to hunt the best limited units right out of the chutes.

Too bad they have grown up and moved away as I miss them dearly

I have not been blessed with grandkids yet - but that would be an entire other thread.
