Just a reminder to submit your Colorado Limited License permit application

Deadline is April 5th, best not wait to the last second in case your computer crashes - or theirs!

This is for all limited elk permits, all muzzleloader permits, and some Archery units

Thanks for the reminder, A friend and I did ours last evening, if we don't get drawn we will OTC, archery or the 2nd gun season. Leaning toward the archery about the third week of season.

Woot Woot. Put in last weekend with a couple of newbies. Checked the box for a over the counter tag if we don't draw. Its nice having guys that are into the hunt rather than me doing all the leg work. Looks like I'll be carrying my bow this year. Welcome Back September.

Smart to git 'er done early. I've seen the online system crash several years, on the last 2 days before the deadline. I'm almost ready to apply. Just have to figure between 2 choices for 1st choice draw, 2 choices for 2nd draw, and several choices for 4th. All I really am sure about, is 3rd choice. Must apply this weekend. To quote Jerry Jeff Walker, "indecision may or may not be my problem."

App went in last night. Just a point this year. Will draw a muzzleloader tag in 2017.

Wow, that was harder than it should have been. I've been applying on line in CO for years, found some new wrinkles this year. One is that you may have to wait in line online, just to start applying. Second, you'll be informed you have 30 min online to complete your apps. I hit a software glitch in 3rd choice elk code that told me I had entered a wrong digit (as if) and started me over 3 times. But the application is done. Figure I have about a 25% chance of hunting any of the elk tags I just applied for. Maybe 50-50 chance @ an RFW buck tag that will conflict w elk tags. Bear pref pt. I suspect I'll be doing this all again when leftover tags become available.

Don't forget to start applying for your kids. My son will turn 12 this summer. I put in for a elk and deer point for him. Kids licenses are $100 so it didn't hurt so bad.

My son is going to be in school for another 8 years, so I am getting him a preference point per year until he can join us in Elk Camp. His first Elk should be quite a specimen!
