Intro! ...and scouting report

Postby wyelk » 07 28, 2015 •  [Post 1]

Hello all! Been elk hunting 3 years, started bow last year. Almost shot a nice 5x5 opening day last year, but I was so deep I didn't take the shot in fear of meat spoiling (it was hot). Got within bow range of 2 bedded 6x6 but could only see the racks and rear ends until they even till winded me. So anyways, I hooked in a bad way. Checked the game cams 26 pics of bears, 40 bull pics, 8 cow pics and 2 mt lions in broad daylight. Counting down the days....

Great intro. Welcome to "the" elk forum bud. Sounds like you'll pick up this year where you left off last year, into the elk! Best of luck to you in the coming elk season. RJ

Welcome bud! Man that's a lot of photos! You still have the cam set in the same spot?

Thanks guys! Yes I am a Wyoming resident and my cameras are still up in the same spot. The trail looks like a forest service trail it's so beat down by wildlife. Probably heading out to check them again in about 3 weeks.
