Postby Wapiti » 06 03, 2015 •  [Post 1]

Well with the new calling contest under way we thought we would introduce our newest elk reed !! The dome helps position the reed for easier use. These domes are shorter than most reeds for a comfortable fit. The shorter dome also swirls the air under the dome which makes the sounds come out smoother and is easier maintain softer sounds !

The Domed Black Widow !! Now available !!

Get yours today and let The Domed Black Widow sink her FANGS into your next kill !!

Still not up on your website? When would you anticipate the domed calls being on the web?

Thanks,

Hi guys,

Please just give me a phone call for orders at 780-876-6170. I'm working on some website changes and will not have the new calls on there for a week or so.

Thank you

Sounds great. I love the original Black Widow for cow and calf calling. It'll be interesting to see how the dome changes it.

I've used the Black Widow without the dome & it sounds awesome! I believe the dome actually steps it up a notch, sweet! Nice going Travis!

Travis,

How does it sound for bugling? Can you hit those ear ringing high notes? I love the Reaper, but I'm always looking for a dual threat (cow/bull) reed, that can produce the high frequency sounds that penetrate the jungle where the Roosies call home, but also the versatility to make a wide variety of cow talk.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

This reed was meant for cow calling but yes if you roll into it smoothly it does hit those high tones you are speaking of. Although the Reaper is more adapt in the ear ringing notes.

The Black widow reed is a much softer stretch than the Reaper. While still equally good for bugling this reed was meant to produce every single cow and calf sound you can imagine. The domed Black Widow is therefore a great dual purpose reed !

Travis,

Thanks for the response! I was just curious about this one. I have to admit, I'm a huge fan of black and red, but I don't think I'll be switching from the Reaper...tone and language versatility are far more important, in a call, than aesthetics, haha!

I'm seriously digging that reaper, bud! Hopefully, I'll have some success stories to share by the end of September.

Take care - Paul
