First Shed Hunt Venture

Well, this is something I've been wanting to do for a while and I'm finally going to do it. I'm gonna see if I can find some of the sacred bone that was once attached to the skull of the almighty wapiti of Northern Arizona. I'm going to embark this weekend and hopefully I'll have some pictures to post of the found treasure.

Isnt it still a bit on the early side? Or am i off a little? I know when deer and moose are dropping but i only have a rough idea of the timeframe for elk. I was thinking a couple more weeks still.

Not really. Lots of elk sheds have already been claimed. The bigger bulls are starting to drop their antlers first right now.

My daughter went out on Friday. She found the elk but no elk sheds. She did find 4x muile that would have made about 26"

Negative. I didn't find any treasure this weekend. I got into a herd of 30 cows and put some mileage on the boots. I'm going to head back out this week and keep trying.

Not finding elk sheds. Did get these yesterday though. Went out with a friend and found a total of 5 paddles and 3 muley antlers.
